If you follow On the Rocks on Facebook, you’ve seen us mention our TIPS-certified bartenders. TIPS stands for Training for Intervention Procedures, and our certified bartenders are an asset to our company and to your next event.
TIPS training is designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving, and underage drinking. The course gives servers the knowledge and confidence needed to recognize potential alcohol-related problems and intervene to prevent alcohol-related tragedies.
TIPS servers are versed in:
- Identifying fraudulent IDs
- Recognizing the signs of intoxication
- Proper incident reporting, should the need arise, and
- The “people skills” needed to enforce safe service while de-escalating difficult situations
Hiring TIPS-certified bartenders means you don’t have to worry about your uncle who likes to drink a little too much or whether the almost-21 crowd is sneaking drinks. You can also rest assured that our bartenders will do all they can to prevent event attendees from driving impaired, and that they will properly report any incidents that do arise for insurance and law enforcement purposes – which benefits you, your venue, and On the Rocks.
On the Rocks’ TIPS-certified bartenders are provided by My Big Day Marketing & Events, a NoCo event planning company we work closely with. My Big Day employees bartend for On the Rocks and within their event contracts – for events they have been hired to plan. My Big Day is a preferred vendor of the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, a popular Colorado venue that now requires alcohol to be served by a hired bartender.
In other words, if you book your event at a venue like the YMCA and hire our mobile bar, the My Big Day team of TIPS-certified bartenders is ready to serve you and your guests safely. Reach out to us now to book On the Rocks for your next event.
